COMUNA BUCSANI

The Commune of Bucsani is situated at a distance of 65 km of Giurgiu and 50 km of Bucharest and counts 4000 inhabitants.

All the villages, except Anghelesti, have optical fibre telephony systems and cable TV.  A local system for potable water is available in Bucsani, Vadu-Lat and Podisor, with possibilities for extension in the entire community.

Road 412c Bucsani- Goleasca is in good conditions, in asphalt (80%).The last 2 km are included in the Development Plan for the next 4 years.

In the Village Podisor, the methan gas network is almost finished and the other villages of the commune are in the process of getting connected to the system.

The commune is in need of employment.

In the commune Bucsani there are 2 schools with legal status:

-         Centre for Documentation and Information, which creates the necessary conditions for auto-documentation activities and the individual works, access to the new technologies and the information resources and has become the main factor for preventing the process of study interruption in the community.

The existence of such a centre can be a big gaining factor for the community considering the availability that is offering to all the young people of the commune.

Considering that the School for Professional Skills Bucsani is frequented by students from all the communes from the neighbourhood, the local authorities have created dormitory facilities for all of them, a project that was the result of a partnership between Bucsani Local Council, Giurgiu County Council and Bucsani School.

The partnership contract was developed for the sustainability of the project „A weekly Centre for the North-West area students which are attending the classes of the Bucsani School for Professional Skills”. The funds were obtained from the programme „Investment in Social Services”.The Centre was opened in September 1st 2005.

The dormitory building consists in apartments, with new furniture and TVs and kitchen (refrigerators and cooking ovens) and bathroom facilities.
